2016 Taub Family Heritance Cabernet Sauvignon Napa ValleyTEMP1374

$49.95

This is a classic mid-valley expression pulling from old favorites like Oakville, Rutherford & St. Helena. Built on a core of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon with 4% Merlot and a kiss of Petit Verdot, it saw 18 months in French oak, 60% of which was brand spankin’ new. That oak influence is lovely and well-integrated, offering baking spice and subtle cedar notes to the ripe, dark fruit. Chewy tannins strut their stuff on a long, flavorful finish. A solid choice for steak night or a lazy afternoon's charcuterie pairing with salumi and hard cheese.

James Suckling

A red with extremely ripe fruit, but it remains fresh and focused, too. Full body, medium chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs time to soften. Better in 2020.
