The earthiness of this Pinot Noir is seductive from the first swirl. Aromas of tree bark and tea arise from a bed of turned earth like a walk in the forest after a rain. On the fruit side of the equation, strawberry-rhubarb pie filling makes for a mouthwatering counterpoint. A fine balance of tannin and acidity weave through each sip, building tension and focus on the long slide towards a silky-smooth finish.
This has a rich, spicy aroma, with flavors to match, as well as concentrated cherry, currant and raspberry fruit components. Glistening acidity powers the minerally finish.
Medium ruby-garnet colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Cresta Ridge Vineyard has aromas of baked blueberries, black berries and black cherry with accents of charcuterie, dried leaves and black soil. In the mouth it's medium-bodied with spicy black and blue fruits, grainy tannins and a juicy finish.
