This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is unbelievably lush and oh so drinkable now, after a few years of bottle age. Mario’s Vineyard is a jewel of a site surrounding the St. Helena winery. With gravel, loam and alluvial soils, it delivers opulent Cabernet Sauvignon with impressive structure and velvety tannins. The 2016 Mario’s opens with violet and lavender notes that lead into dark cherry and dark chocolate decadence.
Very rich, hefty nose, showing a lot of oak as well as dense black fruits and liquorice. Suave attack, juicy and polished, very concentrated but not over-dense or coarse. Plums and black olives on the mid-palate as well as abundant black berry fruit. Very long.
