Tom Cullity is the pinnacle of Vasse Felix, Margaret River’s founding wine estate. The vines behind this are descendants of the first plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, back in 1967, bringing a little extra history to the historic quality in the bottle. The perfume is an enchanting mix of wild berries, woodsy forest and briny ocean breeze. Incredibly luscious in the mouth with long, powdery tannin structure, the complexity and elegance will make this a seriously memorable vintage. Pick up one to have and one to save so you can dip back into the deliciousness down the line.
This wine bears the unmistakable character of the region through notes of black currant, cedar, olive brine, bay leaf and cigar box. Layers of texture and flavor flow over the tongue, knit together by a powdery, fine line of tannins. Oak is present but should integrate seamlessly with time in bottle. It's a classy wine that walks a tightrope of power and elegance. Drink 2022–2040.
