Watermark is respected Napa Valley winemaker Phil Steinschriber of Diamond Creek fame’s private passion project. Practicing his craft in the valley for the last thirty years, Phil has honed his skill making celebrated Cabernet. This vintage is no exception, rippling with ripe cherry and sweet vanilla on the nose, with berry, coffee and toasted oak nuances. Will drink well for many more years.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder opens with Black Forest cake, espresso and cedar chest scents over notes of blackcurrant cordial, blueberry compote and licorice with a waft of lavender. The palate is medium to full-bodied with generous black fruit and a firm, fine-grained texture, finishing long and layered.
