Bouchard Aîné & Fils was founded in 1750 in Beaune, the historical heart of Burgundy, and its cellars are in the Hôtel du Conseiller du Roy, a classic 18th-century maison there. The ‘Clos du Roi’ 1er Cru vineyard, named after King Louis XI, overlooks the town of Beaune. The Pinot from this vineyard is intense with strawberry jumping out of the glass and a subtle finesse of herbs and slight vanilla spice. As you can expect from the name this is a wine fit for royalty.
