Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest wine merchants and one of the largest landowners in the Côte d’Or. Today the estate boasts 320 acres of vines, with 30 acres of Grand Cru and 180 Premier Cru. That’s practically an embarrassment of riches in this coveted region! This fine expression features 17 of that extensive lineup of Beaune premier crus, skillfully blended by Frederic Weber. A nose of white peaches and candied citrus, lightly spiced, leads to a supple, textured Chardonnay with plenty of fruit, subtle oak, and a delightful saline finish.
Part of the Bouchard range since 1907, this wine features 17 of the extensive lineup of Beaune premiers crus, grown on a mixture of soil types. Part of Frédéric Weber's skill lies in the blending of all these different cuvées to produce a wine that's textured, floral and sweet, with subtle reduction, some whole-bunch spice and a backdrop of 35% new wood.
