This blend of blocks from the Cliff Lede estate brings together “Closer to the Heart” Cabernet Sauvignon from the Poetry Vineyard (shallow volcanic soil) and “Dancing in the Dark” Cabernet Sauvignon from the Twin Peaks vineyard. A truly rockin’ bouquet of mineral and stone meets up with intense cassis and raspberry on the palate. Savory iron and graphite nuances add complexity to the bright, fleshy fruit, finishing with dried fig and roasted red peppers. Pair with Springsteen on vinyl and a worn, leather chair for the ultimate encore.
Since founding his namesake winery in 2002, Cliff Lede has put every emphasis on creating a world-class wine estate. With 60 acres under vine throughout the Stags Leap District, a state-of-the-art winemaking facility and a team that includes famed viticulturist David Abreu and winemaker Chris Tynan, every detail has been considered in an attempt to take Bordeaux varietals to a whole new level. A rock and roll attitude that harnesses the energy and spark of the New World while channeling values of the great Old World winemaking properties, his wines are intrinsically connected to the land with a fresh view point that is both progressive and timely. The wine world is changing, and Cliff Lede and his team are at the forefront of the movement.
This Cabernet Sauvignon was blended with 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Merlot and 1% Malbec, and given 21 months in a majority of new French oak. Succulent dark cherry, plum and cassis are complemented by woody tannin and prominent oak, with considerable length and breadth. Enjoy from 2027–2031.
