2017 Gamble Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

$59.95

Gamble Family farms their prime estate vineyards in several of Napa Valley’s most respected AVA’s. Fresh aromas of black plum with cocoa, baking spice and eucalyptus. Vibrant dark fruit on the palate, framed by ripe tannins with a lengthy finish. One for all Napa lovers at a price that will please!

Tom Gamble grew up in Oakville with his father and uncles farming the land. Tom planned to follow in their footsteps and take up the grower lifestyle. None of his family had ever made wine before, however. Not wanting to gamble with the family name, (pun intended), Tom spent many years growing grapes and refining his craft before debuting a Gamble Family wine. Winemaker Jim Close grew up in the UK, and regularly went to France to stock up on wine. He approaches winemaking with an Old World sensibility, as he started his career in the Languedoc-Roussillon before finding his way to Gamble.

Wine Advocate

Blended from several sub-AVAs, including fruit from Calistoga, Oakville and Rutherford, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a soft, approachable wine, marked by gentle leafiness and slightly lifted cherry fruit. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with hints of mint and an attractively dusty feel that lingers easily on the finish.

James Suckling

Plenty of blueberry and blackcurrant with dark chocolate on the nose and palate. It’s full-bodied with creamy, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish.
