2017 Keplinger 'Oakville Ranch Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville
From one of the most decorated and accomplished winemakers in Napa Valley, comes a seriously gorgeous mountain Cab. The organically farmed vines of Oakville Ranch are tucked just below the southern edge of Pritchard Hill, high up on the Vaca range above Dalla Valle. If it sounds like we’re name-dropping, we are – this wine has serious pedigree from the soil on up and it’s a compelling Cab from the vibrant nose of cassis and flowers to the long, complex finish. Deeply textural and loaded with nuance, you’ll want to take your time savoring this solid offering from Keplinger.

A primary beast of a wine, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard comes from a great vineyard in Oakville and is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. Offering full-bodied richness and an elegant, layered mouthfeel, it has a wonderful bouquet of blue fruits, graphite, crushed rocks, and integrated oak. It has the more elegant style of the 2017 vintage, but it certainly doesn’t come up short on concentration, richness, or length. The vintage doesn’t get much better.
