Le Montrachet is perhaps one of the most famous single vineyard sites anywhere on the planet. The Chardonnay produced here is legendary, and probably the most renowned and celebrated white wine in the world. Remoissenet has some of the best vineyard sources in all of Burgundy and the rise in quality of the wines over the past 15 years is well documented by critics. James Suckling notes the Montrachet is “Very dense and flavorful. Full and layered with ripe peaches, white truffles and a very rich finish”. Extremely limited stocks here of this Grand Cru so now is the time to purchase this rare wonder.
Arrival late July 2019!
The cellar at Marius Delarche literally overlooks the hill of Corton, one of the greatest vineyard plots in the world. With Grand Cru dirt of both the red and white variety, the slope of Corton is home to incredible grapes that make it into only a select few cellars. It takes nerves of steel to work with fruit from Corton and the surrounding vineyards of Pernand-Vergelesses, as mistakes are very, very expensive. The late Philippe Delarche and his son Etienne were more than up to the challenge. The Delarche philosophy is about minimalist, low-intervention, small-batch winemaking. When you're working with raw materials of the caliber they source, you let nature do the work for you. Nothing Etienne makes is more than a few dozen barrels (at the most) so the care and attention to detail each lot receives is borderline coddling. We think you'll love his handiwork.
