2017 Neyers Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

$59.95

Here’s a deal that’s too good to last, and a challenge to your assumptions about cool vintages. While we sing the praises of 2018, Bruce Neyers is a firm believer in the underrated greatness of 2017: “During my career in the Napa Valley wine business, I’ve learned to expect the best wines from cold years like 2017... [they] invariably result in wines with brighter, more attractive flavors, and the wines age longer and more gracefully.” Earthy, tannic, and brimming with creamed plum, black fruit and tobacco, this has complex undertones of black olive and crushed rock on a substantial midpalate. It’s drinking beautifully now but, as Neyers himself will tell you, “It’s from a very small crop that will provide decades of pleasure.”
