This is the second such “experiment” for OVID, working with red fruit from a neighboring vineyard to explore the nuances brought from different soils (ashy loam, in this case) and a different farming style. It’s a study in terroir, to be sure, with the control factor being the OVID team at the winemaking helm from harvest to bottle. Richness is in the results, with a purity of expression that showcases the Cabernet Sauvignon, softened by the Merlot and supported with Petit Verdot & Cabernet Franc. Adventurous collectors take note, this is a study worth undertaking.
