This bursts from the glass with black pepper, anise, candied cherry and prune aromas. The palate is smooth and fruit-filled with lovely, savory tannins and a hint of vanilla from oak aging. It was already an outstanding value for a Cabernet this delicious, but we couldn’t help knocking a little extra off the top to take it from high-value to crazy-good-deal. Grab a case and pair it with pizza and burgers until the well runs dry.
Good deep red. Aromas of redcurrant, tobacco, spices and green and black pepper, complicated by a faint oakiness. A step up in texture and depth from the Malbec, offering supple, juicy flavors of red fruits and spices. A bit more structure here as well, with the dusty tannins coming across as firm but not at all dry. Finishes with hints of spices and earth. Murgia admitted that this wine may include a touch of Cabernet Franc from Alto Agrelo.WE87
Berry fruit aromas come with an earthy note of grilled meat. On the palate, this is clampy but otherwise in sync. Dark berry and black cherry flavors finish clean on a tight finish.
