“This suave, complex, Côte d'Or-inspired Chardonnay is one of the best values in New World Chardonnay that I've come across in ages.” – Vinous, on 2016 Combe Verte
We had the same impression of the 2016 model, and it sold out before we could order any! Don’t make the same mistake we did with this one.
Loosely translated, “Combe Verte” means “Green Holler.” 2017 was another stellar vintage from this mom-n’-pop phenomenon in the Eola-Amity Hills. Bravo to Ken Pahlow and Erica Landon for creating such a vibrant, concentrated, citric and fine Chardonnay that must be tasted to be believed! Hop on this one!
Walter Scott Winery is a true rising star of the Willamette Valley, and specifically the Eola-Amity Hills in between McMinnville and Salem. Founded by former wine rep Ken Pahlow and his partner in life and crime, former sommelier Erica Landon, this little mom n’ pop shop has recently taken the Oregon wine scene by storm. Ken and Erica have long been fanatics for the Eola-Amity hills, and the likes of Cristom, Bethel Heights, and St. Innocent. It’s only the beginning of the kinds of accolades we’re going to see from this young winery.
