2018 2Hawk Grenache Rogue Valley
This vintage was an Editor’s Choice for Wine Enthusiast Magazine, and its easy to taste why. A perfect growing season delivered an exhilarating wine – in no small part thanks to the team remaining vigilant in the field; the fruit ripened a full two weeks ahead of schedule! Red berry fruit with lavender and blood orange zest leaps from the glass. The palate brings in crushed strawberry and blackberry with herbs and lingering spice. Impressive!
Wine Enthusiast
Here is a savory, intense, complex wine that marries brambly berry fruit to flavors of oregano and breakfast tea. The density and detail is impressive, and the flavors linger, adding hints of licorice. The addition of Syrah has been upped to 19%, which works quite well. Yeasts were wild, and barrels were neutral.
