2018 Jurisprudence Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Jurisprudence brings all of the elements together to craft systematic perfection. The top barrels from favorite sources are carefully combined to deliver a wine built for pleasure, even in its youth. This magical concoction of blackcurrants, spiced cherries, pip tobacco and vanilla cream shows a gifted winemaker’s hand on the scale, tipping the odds in your favor.

Integrity, quality, honesty and trust. These are the core values of the Bounty Hunter and the mantra for the Justice trio. With almost 15 vintages crafted expressly for Bounty Hunter, we couldn’t be prouder of the track record of our own flagship brand. They hang with the very best of the Napa Valley. Andy Beckstoffer’s Dr. Crane and To Kalon vineyards are Napa Valley royalty, first recognized for their greatness in the 19th century. They are two of the most purely alluvial vineyard sites in the valley, making them true Napa Valley Grand Crus. It isn’t just hype or fashion that causes wines from these vineyards to receive legions of 100-point scores every year; it’s the fact that these are simply magic vineyard sites, ones that have helped elevate brands like Schrader, Carter Cellars, Paul Hobbs, Realm, and Myriad to superstar status. Our long and enthusiastic partnership with these vineyards dates back almost 15 years, and the track record of our Justice wines now speaks for itself. Justice is served.

Lots of juicy redcurrants, blueberries, and wildflower notes define the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Jurisprudence, a fresher, juicy, unevolved Cabernet. Including 1% Cabernet Franc sourced from St. Helena, Rutherford, Oakville, and Napa, aged 20 months in 60% new French oak, this full-bodied, elegant wine is going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and should keep nicely for 15-20 years.

This big red is concentrated in blue fruit and thick tannins, the oak dominant and seasoned in vanilla, clove and tobacco. Earthy dust, cedar and pencil shaving accents contrast well against the textured intensity and ripeness of the wine.
