This is a Cabernet drinker’s Pinot Noir, a deep purple powerhouse aged in 100% new French oak for an intense expression of the varietal. The nose positively explodes with spring flowers, black raspberries and licorice. The palate is big and bold, with more black raspberries, kirsch, and crushed flowers on subtler notes of forest floor. Unabashedly big-bodied, fruit-forward and high-powered.
Addax is a project from two wine-loving buddies, Brian Kearney and Josh Peeples, and they chose Russell Bevan to be their winemaker. This is a brand to watch, with many more great wines in the pipeline! It’s hard to believe that this little winery is already in their 10th vintage, and just now starting to creep into the forward radar of the press and the public.
