2018 Bacio Divino 'Pazzo' Red Napa Valley

$27.95 $36.00

Amenable to all your favorite comfort foods, pasta especially, and a great sipper for your winter evenings. Inspired by your favorite Super-Tuscans with 100% Napa fruit crafted and blended by legendary winemaker Kirk Venge, “Pazzo” or “crazy” in Italian is just that, a luscious red that offers lunatic value.

Claus Janzen is a man who knows Cabernet. Having worked for and with some very prominent Napa properties over the years, he understands the rhythms of the vineyard and what it takes to make great stuff. He's also an innovator in the cellar, having successfully spearheaded wines like Bacio Divino, where non-traditional combinations have enjoyed considerable critical praise. Robert Parker commented that "the strength of his portfolio remains his innovative blends." Working with Nils Venge, the first American winemaker to ever receive a "100-point" rating, and Nils' talented son Kirk, Claus continues to expand his offerings, including a very limited batch of single-vineyard, single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignons from a few very select vineyards. We expect his string of success to continue well into the future.

This is full-bodied with round, ripe tannins that give form to the ripe palate of plum and berry with some fig undertones. Round and savory. Drink now or hold.

Checking in as 54% Sangiovese, 28% Syrah, and the rest Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Red Wine has a lush, super sexy, full-bodied style that carries loads of red and black fruits, unsmoked tobacco, chocolate, and peppery notes in an undeniably delicious, pleasure-bent, balanced style. It's beautifully done and well worth seeking out! It should keep for at least 3-5 years, although there is no need to delay gratification.

EDITORS CHOICE! This is a blend of 38% Sangiovese, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Syrah and 4% Petite Sirah sourced from across the appellation. Bold, brawny and thick in berry flavors and tannins, it offers accents of dried herbs, toasted oak and game.
