2018 Bergstrom 'Shea Vineyard' Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton
Bergstrom Wines is a family affair, started in ‘99 by Dr. John and Karen Bergstrom with their son Josh, who’d spent years in Burgundy before settling back in Oregon to make wine. Their small lots of hand-crafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are always highly sought-after by those in the know – 2018 is no different. This dry, warm vintage played very well in Shea Vineyard, coaxing out the spicey, floral, playful side of the soil. Multiple blocks from the exceptional site come together in a refined and firmly structured Pinot Noir with an exotic bouquet of sweet spice, earth and ripe red berries.
Wine Enthusiast
The Shea cuvée blends multiple blocks from this diverse and exceptional vineyard. It's dense with blackberry and black-cherry fruit, concentrated and more than a little deep. Highlights of cocoa, coffee grounds, truffle and tobacco trail out through a lingering, captivating finish.
