This Vixen just might steal your heart. It impresses right out the gate with a big bouquet of blueberries and crème de cassis woven with spices, violets and wet stone. The powerful, full-bodied palate shows excellent freshness and crisp acidity around a dense core of concentrated red and black fruit. Lovely now, this will continue to evolve, so it wouldn’t hurt to have a few in the cellar to tap every five years or so.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Vixen Block Wildfoote Vineyard was aged for 19 months in French oak barrels, 100% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with savory notes of sautéed herbs, black olives and beef drippings over a core of warm blackberries, blackcurrant jelly and wild blueberries with a waft of garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, finely crafted and elegant in the mouth with fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, it finishes with fantastic energy and length. 400 cases were made.
