The grapes for the Chakana Nuna Estate Organic Malbec are from vineyards with mainly loam soils, with some sand and gravels, located at an altitude of 960m. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a 48 hour cold-soaking prior to fermentation. There is also 100% malolactic fermentation and the wine is aged in a combination of oak barrels and concrete vats for 8 months prior to bottling.
Blackberry and dark plum aromas offer a hint of licorice, while this is outright acidic and scouring in feel. Tart black plum and wild berry flavors are short and borderline sour on a linear finish.
