Big, bold and beautiful are not common descriptions for reds from Burgundy, unless of course you are describing this knockout. Generously oak aged, wonderfully ripe and yet still held high with that ‘je ne sais quoi’ elegance that is such a pillar of the Pinot Noir from this region.
Aromas of wild berries, cassis, smoked meats and a deft framing of oak preface the 2018 Pommard Les Petits Noizons, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and rounded wine that's charming and nicely balanced, built around powdery tannins and succulent acids.WS93
Well-defined and sporting pure black cherry, black currant and violet aromas and flavors, this is solidly structured and vibrant. A strong graphite element emerges as this winds down on the finish. Shows excellent balance and length. Best from 2024 through 2038. 481 cases made, 50 cases imported.VN88
The 2018 Pommard Les Petits Noizons includes 25% whole-bunch fruit this year. Primarily red berry fruit on the nose, which opens nicely in the glass, subtle menthol aromas developing with aeration. The palate is sweet and quite candied on the entry, to the extent that it is quite Volnay in style, and fleshy and rounded toward the simply, easygoing finish. Fine.
