From one of the largest of the Vosne-Romanee premier crus comes a wine of distinct personality with aromas and flavors of red berries, purple flowers and herbs. The palate is rich with ripe fruit, bright acidity and fine tannins with notes of toast and vanilla. This flexible food wine is ready to bring out the best in your everyday feasts and umami favorites.
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru, a particular favorite of Etienne Grivot, was one of the crus that showed some reduction on the nose, rendering it difficult to read at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite focused and precise, with red and black fruit tinged with brown spices and a tang of orange peel toward the finish. It is missing just a little weight at the moment but it should spread its wings once in bottle.
