2018 Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

$64.95 $72.00

Grgich Hills is about as iconic as it gets in these partsf., and they haven’t skipped a beat since Mike Grgich made the wine that hurt France’s feelings back in ‘76. This full-bodied, beauty of a blend is a testament to the vintage, the vineyards, and the skill of the winemaking team. This is a Cabernet that exhibits inviting aromas of dark red fruit, blood orange and fresh plum on the nose, with undertones of rose petals, cinnamon bun, and gingerbread. Flavors of dark fruit, black olives and blackberries, are followed by hints of earth and savory dried herbs. Plus, it pairs perfectly with barbecued ribs, rack of lamb or ratatouille.

Plenty of blackcurrants, flowers and sandalwood on the nose, following through to a full body with tight, creamy tannins that give the wine polish and beauty. Give it a year or two to soften, but already very attractive. From organically grown grapes.
