After a day spent catching waves (or just catching some rays) drop into the evening with this delicious blend from vineyards rippling across the valley. To keep this wine approachable and fun, surfer Kyle Knox conspires with winemaker Alison Doran, who was the winemaker at Lewis Cellars before helping to launch Hill Family Winery over 40 years ago. When it comes to wine and waves, balance is crucial! We’ve enjoyed this wine for years and we’re stoked to have it back in the rotation with a tremendous vintage at a beach-picnic price.
Winegrowing isn't always easy, but it sure can be rewarding. Doug Hill must think so as he's been at it for the past 40 years and farms nearly 700 acres across the Napa Valley (his family owns about 100 of those). With so much acreage at his fingertips he's got an insider's edge as to which areas shine and how to cull out the very best characteristics from each site. He wasn't content to just grow for others, so Doug and the family decided their family should get into the wine business too. These days, Hill Family Estate is the culmination of Doug's vision - a way to share his love of the valley, of farming and of wine with his children and wine lovers everywhere. What can we say? Not only are the Hills living the dream, but they're helping us to do the same… straight from the heart of the Napa Valley, in the American foodie Capital better known as Yountville, California.
A very balanced and layered red with beautiful raspberry, currant and dark-chocolate undertones. It’s medium-bodied with a solid core of fruit and ripe, silky tannins. Gorgeous finish. Drink after 2022. Screw cap.
