This incredibly rich and decadent blend of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon gets us every year. It boasts very candied black fruits, Fig Newtons, spice cake, and caffé mocha; and if you’re looking for a dainty, subtle red in this wine, you might be looking for a long time.
“Lewis' style is a supersized, pedal-to-the-metal, open-throttle expression of flavor. Those characteristics run throughout the winery's lineup…Few wineries perform as consistently as Lewis." - Wine Spectator Randy Lewis spent a 23-year career pushing personal and mechanical limits as a race car driver, beginning as a Formula 3 driver in Europe. That’s where he fell in love with fine wine. He founded Lewis Cellars in 1992, and today he and his winemaker Josh Widaman, formerly of Pahlmeyer, are making the best wines in the history of the estate. In short, these are some of the most popular Napa Valley wines Bounty Hunter offers. They’re unrestrained, voluptuous wines that consistently score in the mid-to-high 90s. The feedback we get from you is enthusiastic across the board.
The 2018 Alec's Blend is a step up, offering a beautiful nose of crème de cassis, scorched earth, chocolate, and charred meat. It's rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, yet still shows restraint and purity, with terrific tannins. I'd be thrilled to drink a bottle. The blend is 57% Syrah, 28% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc.
