The Jadot family moved from Belgium to Burgundy and began setting down roots in the Beaune region in the 1820s, but the maison wasn't founded until 1859 when they started their négociant business. In the 1900s, their son Louis Jean Baptiste assumed the family business and expanded into nearby regions, acquiring some rather enticing vineyards. Additionally, the company expanded exports to include England and the U.S.A. Over the decades, the maison enjoyed an impressive growth and in 1984, Madame Jadot decided to sell the company to ensure its survival well into the future. Today the company continues to honor the legacy started almost 200 years ago; giving the utmost attention to each appellation and vineyard so that the essence of Burgundy can be expressed in each of their wines.
