The petite hamlet of Pernand-Vergeless, hides behind Corton hill, and is a treasure trove of refined Burgundy wines. Known for crafting Chardonnays with a light floral hint, this is full and layered with ripe peaches, white truffles and a very rich finish. Dense and flavorful, ready the fresh crab’s legs.
The cellar at Marius Delarche literally overlooks the hill of Corton, one of the greatest vineyard plots in the world. With Grand Cru dirt of both the red and white variety, the slope of Corton is home to incredible grapes that make it into only a select few cellars. It takes nerves of steel to work with fruit from Corton and the surrounding vineyards of Pernand-Vergelesses, as mistakes are very, very expensive. The late Philippe Delarche and his son Etienne were more than up to the challenge. The Delarche philosophy is about minimalist, low-intervention, small-batch winemaking. When you're working with raw materials of the caliber they source, you let nature do the work for you. Nothing Etienne makes is more than a few dozen barrels (at the most) so the care and attention to detail each lot receives is borderline coddling. We think you'll love his handiwork.
