Las Colinas captures the essence of the western Sonoma Coast appellation, especially in such a tremendous vintage. This blends fruit from the biodynamically farmed Harrison Grade Estate with organically farmed Dusty Lane to build a lithe and powerful Syrah. Dark plum and black current flavors swirl around a core of earth and game with herbaceous, spicy notes. Robust, with moderate acidity and textured tannins, this is an exciting expression of Sonoma Coast Syrah.
The 2018 Syrah Las Colinas is a powerful, savory wine. In this vintage, the Colinas is a real powerhouse. Savory and peppery flavors abound. I am quite honestly surprised to see how reticent the Colinas is. Readers should plan on cellaring it for at least a few years. There is a lot of wine here, and certainly a lot to look forward to.
