Saint George slays dragons and Mt George slays Merlot, apparently. Deep, volcanic soils on one of the Valley’s first planting sites yield grapes of power and structure, captured brilliantly by the team at Silverado. Aromas and flavors of blackberries find an intriguing complexity in coffee, chalk, and pencil shaving nuances – like stealing a slice of pie from the teacher’s lounge. Don’t worry, we won’t tell.
Hailing from a cooler-climate area just east of downtown Napa, where it’s grown on gravelly soils of volcanic rock, this red offers up ripe mulberry, coffee, and pencil shavings. A big, bold character emerges with dusty tannins and a mineral core. Aged 16 months in French oak.
