The FAY vineyard is one the greats in Napa Valley, producing fruit with an abundance of supple red and black berry character, voluptuous perfume and velvety texture. The 2018 FAY Cabernet Sauvignon has inviting aromas of ripe berries, figs, plums, candied cherries, and a touch of a jasmine. This lively, bright Cab is nicely-balanced with polished tannins and lingering cherry pie finish. Perfect with soy-glazed salmon.
Very floral with violets and roses, as well as sweet berries, cherries and some redcurrants. It’s round and refined with lovely berry character and fine tannins. So attractive now, but better in two or three years.
A barrel sample, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Fay Vineyard has a deep garnet-purple color and vibrant scents of freshly crushed red and black currants, fresh black berries and wild blueberries plus hints of cardamom, lavender, black olives and fertile loam. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of crunchy red, black and blue berry layers, supported by sturdy tannins and loads of freshness, finishing earthy.
