2018 Tasca d'Almerita Tenuta Regaleali 'Guarnaccio' Perricone

Perricone is a little-cultivated red wine grape variety grown in western Sicily. It is most commonly used in blends with the island's dominant grape, Nero d'Avola, where it offers up texture and a deep pigment. This wine opens with aromas of oak-driven spice, Mediterranean scrub and black-skinned berries. The linear palate shows prune and star anise, while racy acidity keeps it light on its feet. Drink through 2022.
