2018 The Vice 'V3' Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford

$39.95 $68.95

The Vice’s V3 is the culmination of a two-year experiment from the young winemaker and rising Napa Valley star, Malek Amrani. He took the wine he made from a single vintage and split it up for oak aging, allowing some to rest for 12 months, some for 18, and this batch for a full 24 months. It’s a big, rich, opulent Cabernet bathed in blackberry preserves and cassis with toasted coconut and vanilla on the nose. The finish is very long, lingering on warm cedar. Enjoy this now or run an experiment of your own, and uncork a bottle every year to taste the evolution!

Frankly ripe, with a broad swath of cassis, steeped plum and blackberry preserve flavors, carried by loamy tannins and backed with licorice and worn cedar on the finish, which lingers longest. A touch stolid overall; for fans of the big style.
