13 Rams is the Shannon family’s testimony to conservation and regenerative farming. Early farming traditions inspired them to reinvent their agricultural approach, including an ever-present flock of sheep to control cover crops, munch weeds, and drop loads of perfect fertilizer. Their pioneering efforts in Lake County earned them the California Green Medal Environment Award in 2021. Their delicious wine earned them a spot on our list!
This inky-dark wine practically oozes blackberry jam, blueberry and dark chocolate wrapped in a thick but soft blanket of tannins. It's huge in mouthfeel, very concentrated and built for further aging. Best from 2027.
