2019 Argyle 'Reserve Artisan Series' Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

The dynamic 2019 Reserve Pinot Noir showcases Argyle’s four sites throughout the Willamette Valley, predominately the volcanic red soils of the Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills. It shows great elegance and a silky texture on the palate. Aromas and flavors are classic Willamette Valley, with red cherry, rose petal and savory tea in abundant layers. Underlying minerality weaves throughout with firm, yet polished tannins.

Rollin Soles is the only Oregon winemaker whose wines have been ranked among Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of the World ELEVEN times. A single nomination is enough to go to a man's head, but Rollin, who has made world-class wine in California, Australia and even Switzerland, continues to approach viticulture with humility, passion and very little ego. When he and Brian Croser founded Argyle in 1987, their goal was to craft textured, old world style Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from the premium vineyards in the Willamette Valley. Today, Argyle farms three vineyards; the Knudsen and Stoller Vineyards and the spectacular 160-acre Lone Star Vineyard. The duo purchased the latter in 1996. Planted primarily to Dijon clones, this warm, eastern sloping site in the Eola Hills is one of Oregon's finest Pinot Noir properties.
