The red dirt of Black 2A at the Tench Vineyard sits at the base of this bottle and can be thanked for the aromatic preference for blue fruit over black. Bevan pulled in a little Cabernet Franc to build up the tannin structure and add more concentration to the Cabernet Sauvignon base. This is another big wine from Bevan with a knockout bouquet and bags of juicy, delicious fruit cruising towards a lifted, floral finish. This was a small vintage, so if you miss out, you have our condolences.
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the 2019 Proprietary Red EE Tench Vineyard is a barrel sample with a deep garnet-purple color. It leaps out of the glass with crème de cassis, blueberry pie and black cherry cordial with nuances of potpourri, kirsch and tobacco leaf. Full-bodied, the palate is bright and refreshing with bags of juicy fruit and a soft texture, finishing with a floral lift.
