This is a fun and fascinating project spearheaded by Brittany Sherwood, the winemaker for Heitz Cellars. It’s a field blend that harkens back to old school Napa Valley, comprised of a few historically favored varieties that we don’t see as often anymore. Tempranillo is joined by Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao, Tinta Madeira, and Trousseau in this fun, fresh, vibrant red wine that’s both complex and dangerously drinkable.
Fresh, vibrant red fruit flavors show notes of plumeria, candied violet and black pepper, with a touch of cream soda. The flavors are dense and generous, but finish on a smooth, polished frame. Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cão and Trousseau. Drink now
