2019 Dalla Valle 'Collina' Proprietary Red Napa Valley

(Net Item - no discounts apply)

Dalla Valle’s luck held in 2019 with another idyllic Napa Valley vintage and the estate’s dive into Biodynamic farming. All the elements aligned and delivered another classic worthy of cult status. Tannins are silky and elegant, tension and precision are on point in this stunning blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petite Verdot.

Naoko Dalla Valle’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc vines, astride terra rossa soils high above the Silverado Trail in Oakville, are the stuff of myth. With a tantalizingly small amount of wine made, nearly all of their production is sold direct to their mailing list. Thankfully Bounty Hunter has been on board from the beginning, and each year we obtain a small parcel to offer you, including the rare and occasionally “perfect” Maya.

The base 2019 Collina was originally made from the younger vines of the estate, yet those vines aren’t so young anymore, and this easily stands alone as a brilliant Bordeaux blend. Black cherries, currants, leafy herbs, and subtle floral notes all define the bouquet, and it’s darker, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully balanced on the palate. It’s undeniably delicious and perfect for drinking over the coming 10-15 years.
