Les Blanchots enjoys a unique soil composition that combines typical Chablis Kimmeridgian limestone (for unmatched minerality) with white clay, which retains moisture for the vines. 2019 was a year of extremes, but the vineyard kept its cool and came through for Domaine Laroche. Wine Scout, Nicholas Birge, notes: “Crisp orchard fruit, white peach, apple blossom, toasted almonds and vanilla pod rise from the glass in this full-bodied, concentrated wine. It already shows real elegance in the silky mouthfeel and wonderful acidity, but don’t be afraid to cellar it for a few more years."
This wine exhibits strength as well as richness. With a dense texture and powerful, warm yellow- and white-fruit flavors, its ripe character is supported by toast and a tight structure.
