2019 Frias Family 'Lady of the Dead' Red Blend Napa Valley

$49.95

You may have to check your pulse, because this Lady is going to take your breath away. It’s a serious step up in intensity, from the bouquet to the sweet release, with plenty of complexity. Red fruit finds cinnamon and spice with a swirl of the glass. The first mouthcoating sip brings lush plum and blackberry, balanced by sweet tannins on the finish. It's a drop-dead gorgeous, Cabernet-heavy red blend that’s ready to drink now.

“Frias is making some of the most compelling wines in the valley. This is a bandwagon you don’t want to miss.” – Jeb Dunnuck Frias Family Vineyard is a multi-generational project on Spring Mountain spearheaded by Manny Frias, patriarch of a proud family from San Francisco. When Manny Frias first visited the Napa Valley, land was dirt cheap. So in 1977, he and his father purchased 100 acres and an old Victorian farmhouse on Spring Mountain. While maintaining a home, family and career in San Francisco, Manny also started to take classes on viticulture at the Napa Valley College, reading every book about winemaking and talking with every winemaker he met. In 1985, as a hobbyist, he planted a small vineyard on the property and created, just for fun, the unofficial first vintage in 1988. It’s a thrill to see how much critical acclaim the Frias family is getting these days. Why not mix up a case of these utterly juicy and delicious Cabernets, from a true American success story?
