2019 Gamble Family Rose Napa Valley

RatingNot Yet Rated

Third generation farmer Tom Gamble uses Oakville Cabernet as the base for this Bordeaux variety blend. A beautiful rosé that has inviting aromas of wild strawberry, Rainier cherry and tangerine zest. The palate showcases flavors of juicy, pink grapefruit and watermelon rind with subtle hints of white flowers & fresh rain. Refreshingly dry with bright acidity and a long, crisp finish. Great for an evening date.

Tom Gamble grew up in Oakville with his father and uncles farming the land. Tom planned to follow in their footsteps and take up the grower lifestyle. None of his family had ever made wine before, however. Not wanting to gamble with the family name, (pun intended), Tom spent many years growing grapes and refining his craft before debuting a Gamble Family wine. Winemaker Jim Close grew up in the UK, and regularly went to France to stock up on wine. He approaches winemaking with an Old World sensibility, as he started his career in the Languedoc-Roussillon before finding his way to Gamble.
