2019 LEVO '2 2 Tango' Grenache Central Coast

$49.95

Levo Wines likes to call Grenache “Pinot Noir on steroids” and the beauty to Petite Sirah’s beast. 2019 was a great vintage for Grenache, with a long season that allowed for full flavor development. The 2 2 Tango is a selection of the winemaker’s favorite barrels from up and down the Central Coast. It’s rich and ripe enough to teeter on the edge of absurdity, but Graciano and Syrah bring savory support and brightness to pull it back into balance. Even so, a good long decant will go a long way with this big wine!

The 2019 Grenache 2 2 Tango is terrific. A blend of 76% Grenache, 15% Graciano, and the rest Syrah, sourced from multiple sites throughout the Central Coast (mostly Ballard Canyon), it has a cool, lively, incredibly elegant style to go with textbook Grenache notes of red and blue fruits, ground pepper, and herbes de Provence. It has fabulous purity of fruit, and I’m a fan.
