2019 Lewis 'Reserve' Chardonnay Napa Valley

$74.95

You can always count on Randy Lewis to deliver a Chardonnay with drive. This beauty pulls you through the curves like it’s on rails, from the opening aromas of white flower and green pear to the rich stone-fruit flavors and crushed-stone minerality. The ‘Reserve’ is definitely going the distance.

“Lewis' style is a supersized, pedal-to-the-metal, open-throttle expression of flavor. Those characteristics run throughout the winery's lineup…Few wineries perform as consistently as Lewis." - Wine Spectator Randy Lewis spent a 23-year career pushing personal and mechanical limits as a race car driver, beginning as a Formula 3 driver in Europe. That’s where he fell in love with fine wine. He founded Lewis Cellars in 1992, and today he and his winemaker Josh Widaman, formerly of Pahlmeyer, are making the best wines in the history of the estate. In short, these are some of the most popular Napa Valley wines Bounty Hunter offers. They’re unrestrained, voluptuous wines that consistently score in the mid-to-high 90s. The feedback we get from you is enthusiastic across the board.

The 2019 Chardonnay Reserve is similarly light gold-hued and has a vibrant nose of white peach, caramelized apple, gunflint, and honeyed flowers. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, concentrated Chardonnay that brings plenty of Napa opulence yet also terrific freshness, purity, and length. It's not for the Chablis crowd, but it's a rock star of a Napa Chardonnay.

Big, rich and buttery, with ripe white fruit flavors that are well-spiced and backed by rich acidity. Toffee accents on the broad, open-textured finish linger with tropical fruit notes.
