2019 Martinelli 'Bella Vigna' Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
Who can resist the siren call of these beautiful vines? Not us. The alluring nose of Bing cherry and raspberry has us wrapped around Martinelli’s little finger. The palate is full of flavor, from bold, ripe cherries to the cinnamon lingering on the finish. Silky and luxurious with a satisfying, underlying acidity, this is a generous example of the Martinelli style we love.
Our tastings with the utterly vivacious Regina Martinelli, sales director for her family's 130-year-old winery, are always showstoppers. Every one of this winery's Chardonnays, Pinots Noirs, Syrahs, and Zinfandels is outstanding. If we know anything about what we're doing, the wines are going to turn you on. They have it all: brilliantly expressive fruit, concentration, and complexity. It's not often that a winery comes by and reminds us why we love wine so much. Put together a mixed case and experience the thrill for yourself. Most of these wines are sold only through the winery and are very hard to find.
Wine Enthusiast
Silky and luxurious, with wild shocks of cinnamon and nutmeg, this lush, full-bodied wine is riddled in rich layers of strawberry and boysenberry. It holds its weight and breadth well, showing underlying acidity that winds its way into the foundational structure.
