2019 Martinelli 'Bondi Home Ranch' Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
Bondi Home Ranch, in Green Valley, was where a pair of Martinelli ancestors landed and built a life when they immigrated from Italy. A thriving apple orchard for years, the cool climate and Gold Ridge soil have proven every bit as welcoming to grape vines. Early to bud break and slow to ripen, these grapes bring loads of character to the table for a big, bold Pinot Noir. The palate is weighty and rich with a lengthy finish that lingers in a pool of boysenberry and clean earth. Intense, ripe, and utterly alluring, this is a seriously striking Pinot Noir. Limit 6 bottles per customer.
Our tastings with the utterly vivacious Regina Martinelli, sales director for her family's 130-year-old winery, are always showstoppers. Every one of this winery's Chardonnays, Pinots Noirs, Syrahs, and Zinfandels is outstanding. If we know anything about what we're doing, the wines are going to turn you on. They have it all: brilliantly expressive fruit, concentration, and complexity. It's not often that a winery comes by and reminds us why we love wine so much. Put together a mixed case and experience the thrill for yourself. Most of these wines are sold only through the winery and are very hard to find.
