Merry Edwards is a legend both as a winery and as the woman who helped defined Russian River Valley excellence. She was named winemaker of the year in 2004, while “Merry Edwards” was named Domestic Winery of the Year in 2018. Both are hall of fame material, in our minds, and this special, transitional vintage marks the year when the iconic house was purchased by Champagne Louis Roederer. Merry retired on a high note, and this earthy, expansive, velvety Pinot Noir is a fine souvenir. Edgy acidity and fresh floral components over a rich berry core will make this a lovely ‘side-dish’ for any feast.
