2019 Perchance Estates 'Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
We do love it when our Perchance allocation arrives. It is the four-leaf prize in a field of clover and we know a few customers are about to get lucky. 2019 was another spectacular growing season, with all the elements harmonizing to deliver rich, dark Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of dark plum and cassis lift from the glass to pull you towards a palate of dark red fruit, licorice, barrel spice and vanilla. Rounded acidity fans across the mid-palate with relentless persistence, displaying even more power and energy than the 2018. The finish is a crescendo of fruit and balanced tannins with Rutherford dust lingering on the long, final note.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is brought up all in new French oak barrels. Rocking crème de cassis, chocolate, toasted spice, and smoke tobacco are just some of the nuances here, and it's full-bodied, has an expansive, ripe, opulent mouthfeel, great tannins, and the class to evolve for over two decades. It's another brilliant wine from this estate that’s well worth seeking out.
Wine Advocate
Less intricately floral than the 2018 but perhaps a touch riper and more powerful (both are labeled at 14.9% alcohol), Perchance's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III features chocolate overtones to the cassis and black cherry fruit. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, with a lingering finish, the wine boasts just enough freshness to keep the finish mouthwatering and compelling sip after sip. Lush and textured, it may be enjoyed now or for up to two decades.
