The 2019 Stringer Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of the Cabernet vineyards that they sourced fruit from in 2019. Wine from Oakville, Howell Mountain, Oak Knoll, Atlas Peak, Calistoga, and "Pritchard Hill" are all part of the final blend.
The wine shows class and purity. While attractive in its youth, it will only become more refined as it matures.
Sourced from Rocky Ridge Vineyard, Stringer's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain features scents of dark loam, hints of pencil shavings, cassis and cherries on the nose. It's full-bodied, rich and textured but also bright and vibrant. That acidity gives it extra pop and persistence on the finish and should ensure a long evolution.
One of my favorites from Stinger Cellars is their 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain, which is all Cabernet (it’s a blend of Clone 191 and 337) brought up in 75% new barrels. Gorgeous blue fruits, violets, scorched earth, and tobacco define the bulk of the aromatics, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has good acidity, ripe yet present tannins, and a great finish. It should evolve for 15+ years if well stored.
