1051605 2020 Beringer 'Knights Valley Reserve' Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County
Dark violet with shimmering garnet color tones, the 2020 Knights Valley Reserve has a beautiful bouquet of ripe black cherry and boysenberry, with touches of tea leaf, lavender, and fresh sage. The fruit is bright and lively, showing flavors of black currant, blackberries, and crème de cassis cordial, supported by warm spice notes of cinnamon, vanilla bean, and allspice. Velvety-rich in texture with fine-grained polished tannins and an elegant lengthy finish with concentrated, dense, dark fruit, accompanied by a precise tension and balance that pleases the palate from first sip to last.
Over the past 141 years, Beringer has built its name on quality and consistency. The oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley (they used a federal license during Prohibition that allowed them to make wine for religious purposes), they’ve been instrumental in both the development of Napa’s international reputation while simultaneously serving as a critical link to its past.
James Suckling
Very pretty depth with a tile and rock-like texture to this. Minerally. Redcurrant. Medium to full body. Juicy finish. Needs two or three years to soften and come together.
